Novix v1.2.4: The Polish & Performance Update! ✨

Following our initial launch, version 1.2.4 is all about refining your experience! We've focused on major UI/UX upgrades, performance boosts, and squashing bugs to make Novix smoother, faster, and more enjoyable to use. Plus, we've added some highly-requested features!

What's New? 🚀

• 🔖 Introducing Bookmarks: You can now easily save movies to your custom watchlists from almost anywhere in the app! A new bookmark bottom sheet makes managing your lists a breeze.

• 📱 Modern Edge-to-Edge Design: The app now utilizes your entire screen, providing a more immersive and modern interface that looks stunning on all devices.

• ✨ Smoother Loading Experience: We've replaced jarring loading spinners with sleek shimmer effects and content skeletons. Now, browsing feels seamless while content loads in the background.

• 🔔 New Notification System: A brand-new, non-intrusive snackbar system provides clear and concise feedback for actions like saving a movie or deleting a rating.

✨ Enhancements & Fixes

• 🎨 UI Overhaul & Consistency: We've conducted a massive refactoring of our UI components. Screens like Search, My Ratings, and Categories now use a new, consistent grid system, making the entire app feel more unified and responsive.

• 🔒 Improved Data Safety: For your privacy and security, logging out of your account now clears all your personal preferences and cached data from the device.

• 🚀 Faster & More Reliable UI: By bundling fonts directly into the app, we've eliminated the reliance on network font providers. This means the UI loads faster and looks consistent, even on slower connections.

• 💅 General UI & UX Polish:

  • Implemented a beautiful background gradient on several screens for a more polished look.
  • Navigation flows, especially after logging in, are now smoother and more intuitive.
  • Pager dots in image carousels now only appear when there are multiple images to view.
  • Fixed dozens of minor design issues, including inconsistent padding, icon visibility, and button styling.

• 🐞 Bug Squashing: Fixed a number of bugs, including issues with the new bookmark sheet hanging, incorrect API paths for TV show ratings, and improper state handling on various screens.

⚙️ Under the Hood

This release includes a massive refactoring of our data, domain, and presentation layers, along with a significant increase in test coverage to over 60%. This work was crucial to improve the app's stability, eliminate technical debt, and pave the way for exciting new features in the future!
