BI Cycle Shop Sales Dashboard – An interactive Power BI tool for tracking and analyzing global bicycle sales performance by month, product, country, and customer segment.


2. Short Description / Purpose

The BI Cycle Shop Sales Dashboard is designed to provide a clear and interactive view of sales, profit, and customer trends. It enables business managers and analysts to identify top-selling products, most profitable months, best-performing regions, and key customers—helping optimize strategy, inventory, and marketing efforts.


3. Tech Stack

The dashboard was built using the following tools and technologies:

  • 📊 Power BI Desktop – For creating and designing interactive reports.
  • 📂 Power Query – For data cleaning, transformation, and preparation.
  • 🧠 DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) – For calculated measures and dynamic KPIs.
  • 📝 Data Modeling – Established relationships among sales, product, country, and customer tables.
  • 📁 File Formats.pbix for the working dashboard, .png/.pdf for previews and sharing.

Source: Internal bicycle shop sales records.
The dataset includes:

  • Monthly sales and profit figures (2021–2022)
  • Country-wise sales distribution
  • Product category breakdown
  • Customer segment classification
  • Top customer purchase history

Business Problem

The cycle shop operates globally but lacks a single visual tool to track performance metrics and identify key trends across regions, products, and customer segments.

Goal of the Dashboard

To provide an interactive platform that:

  • Tracks overall sales, profit, and units sold.
  • Identifies high-performing months, products, and customer segments.
  • Supports strategic decisions on marketing, inventory, and customer targeting.

Walkthrough of Key Visuals

  • Top KPIs (Top Center)

    • Total Sales: 117.9M
    • Total Profit: 16.9M
    • Profit Percentage: 14.33%
    • Total Units Sold: 1M
  • Profit by Month (Bar Chart) – Shows monthly profitability; peak profit in July (1.9M) and lowest in October (0.9M).

  • Month Wise Sales (Bar Chart) – Sales volume trends; July leads with 13M sales, while February and October lag with 7M each.

  • Sales Country Wise (Donut Chart)

    • Top markets: Japan (15.54%), France (14.93%), England (14.1%).
    • Lowest among shown: Canada (9.08%).
  • Sales by Product Name (Pie Chart)

    • Best-selling product: Paseo (27.51%).
    • Least among top products: Carretera (11.72%).
  • Sales by Segment (Donut Chart)

    • Government (44.54%) and Small Business (36%) dominate sales.
    • Midmarket has a minimal share (2.02%).
  • Top 5 Customers (Horizontal Bar Chart)

    • Top buyer: Jackson Hill (5.3M).
    • Abigail Lewis and Mia Hill share similar purchase values (3.6M).

Business Impact & Insights

  • Inventory Planning: Focus on top-selling products like Paseo and VTT for stock priority.
  • Market Strategy: High engagement in Japan, France, and England suggests targeted campaigns in these countries.
  • Customer Retention: VIP programs for top customers like Jackson Hill can boost repeat business.
