- Visit Python 3.12 Download Page.
- Download the appropriate installer:
- Windows: Windows x64 installer
- macOS: macOS 64-bit universal2 installer
- Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
- Navigate to BookSmart.ai GitHub Repository.
- Click the “Code” drop-down button.
- Select "Download ZIP".
- Extract the folder to your desired location.
- Obtain an API key from OpenAI.
- Save the API key in a text file at
project_root/assets/api_key.txt.
- Open Terminal (macOS) or Command Prompt (Windows).
- Change the directory to the program directory in the extracted ZIP file.
- Run
pip install -r requirements.txtto install required libraries. - After installation, execute
python Main.pyto start the application.
