E2SAR-0.3.1-main-ubuntu-24.04: V0.3.1 wip (#163)

Choose a tag to compare

- Reversed the order of removing senders and shutting down send threads
in e2sar_perf to ensure no losses occur due to premature de-listing of
the sender IP in LB
- Fixed multiple memory leaks in segmenter and reassembler
- Fixed proper handling of `-v/--novalidate` flag in lbadm
- Added 'Zero-to-Hero' scripts that show how to do performance testing
on Perlmutter (located in scripts/zero_to_hero). The scripts exercise
the wide variety of E2SAR tools and show how they can be integrated into
Slurm workflows.

## v0.3.0

- Dependencies change - Boost 1.89.0 and gRPC 1.74.1
- Fixed IPv6 header calculation bug that affected the MTU
- Changed the order of evaluation of INI file vs. command line - command line overrides anything specified in the INI file
- Added tilde expansion to INI file path specifier
- Added support for Boost::log
- Added a new SegmenterFlags flag - data-plane.ticksAsREEventNum - when set the RE header event number is overwritten with the corresponding LB event number - primarily to support debugging and defaults to false
- Added new reported stats - totalPackets and totalBytes that are received from getStats() call on Reassembler (can be queried any time). These are in addition to per-FD stats gathered (which can only be queried at the end).
- Added full support for latest gRPC. See issue #132 for details.
  - Includes support for retrieving timeseries stats data
  - Includes support for new style token management
- Fixed a bug where send queue in Segmenter was in fact infinite, potentially blowing up memory, now set to fixed size 2048 entries
- Added a trivial UDP relay program (bin/e2sar_udp_relay) to help relaying SYNC packets. Listens on a given port and retransmits to a new host/port. No source header rewriting or any other magic, the SYNC packets look like they came from the relay host. Supports IPv4 and IPv6 (and can relay between the two stacks).
- Added RE header version validation (see #146) and a badHeaderDiscards stats field in reassembler receive stats to report the number of packet discards due to version check fail
- Added support for LB Header Version 3. Version can be selected via segmenter.ini file or in e2sar_perf via command line (--lbhdrversion). Defaults to 2.
- Fixed a bug improperly reporting outgoing interface when Segmenter uses IPv6 (#140)
- To properly support IPv6 testing e2sar_iperf now takes `--dpv6` flag for either send or receive side to indicate that the dataplane should be using IPv6
- To address #145, made per-event mallocs optional and off-by-default in e2sar_perf to improve send performance
- Reserving an LB for indefinite period of time using `lbadm` should work using `-d '00:00:00'`, which also is now the default
- Added '--rateGbps' option to e2sar_perf which is an alias to the previous '--rate', however since the SegmenterFlags field is rateGbps, it makes it consistent
