The odds of this being approved I think would be greatly improved by minimizing this change -- there are quite a lot of changed lines, would it be possible to streamline? Thank you and it LGTM on Python 3.96 / MacOS Ventura |

Fixed issue #182 which caused colour codes to be printed instead of text being coloured when run in Python 3.
