Besides the modbus communication, I think having a simple way to test the connection and communication is valuable.
I created (well, I prompted, AI produced), a script to read the time and sync the ECL clock as a low-risk testing method (vs writing other registers - the time/date seems standard across the ECL product line). Also added some warnings when about to write in case there is some device than an ECL attached.
