We are a human augmenation and biohacking-focused community dedicated to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free environment for everyone. Our community thrives on diversity, open collaboration, and the pursuit of knowledge in human augmentation and biohacking technologies. This Code of Conduct and Guiding Principles outlines our expectations to ensure a positive experience for all members and participants.
This Code of Conduct applies to all community spaces, including but not limited to online forums, social media channels, events, workshops, and any other interactions under our community umbrella.
- Paramount Right: The right of individuals to make informed choices about their bodies is paramount.
- Voluntary Participation: All augmentations and modifications must be voluntary and respect individual choices.
- Full Disclosure: Individuals must be fully informed of the known risks and benefits of any augmentation or modification, acknowledging that some effects may be unknown.
- Consent: All parties must consent without coercion, with the understanding that consent can be withdrawn at any time.
- Open Communication: Commit to sharing ideas, knowledge, data, and outcomes openly and publicly.
- Clarity: Promote clear communication to facilitate understanding and collaboration.
- Democratization of Knowledge: Advocate for accessible science and technology to ensure that human augmentation is available to all interested individuals.
- Resource Sharing: Encourage the dissemination of information and resources to promote widespread understanding and participation.
- Do No Harm: Adhere to the principle of "First, do no harm" (Primum non nocere).
- Risk Minimization: Strive to minimize risks and adverse effects on individuals, others, and the environment.
- Responsible Action: Recognize that both action and inaction have consequences; take responsibility for the safety of actions undertaken.
- Dignity and Privacy: Uphold the dignity, worth, and privacy of every individual.
- Considerate Behavior: Treat all members with kindness, empathy, and respect.
- Impact Awareness: Consider the impact of your actions on individuals, communities, and the environment.
- Acceptance and Inclusion: Create a culture of acceptance and inclusion within the community.
- Embracing Diversity: Celebrate diversity in gender identities, sexual orientations, disabilities, neurodiversity, physical appearances, body sizes, ages, races, ethnicities, nationalities, languages, and religions.
- Zero Tolerance for Discrimination: Do not tolerate discrimination or harassment in any form.
- Ethical Standards: Uphold high ethical standards and diligence in all activities.
- Reject Unethical Behavior: Reject all forms of cruelty, unethical conduct, and inhumane treatment.
- Promote Well-being: Actively work to promote the health, safety, and overall well-being of individuals undergoing augmentation or biohacking.
- Positive Outcomes: Strive for interventions that result in the most significant positive outcomes for individuals and society.
- Responsibility to Act: Recognize a duty to act in the best interest of participants and the broader community.
- Avoid Harm: Adhere strictly to the principle of "do no harm" by minimizing risks associated with biohacking practices.
- Risk Awareness: Assess potential risks comprehensively and ensure that harm is minimized through informed decision-making and adherence to safety protocols.
- Mitigation Strategies: Prepare strategies to address and mitigate any unintended adverse outcomes.
- Fair Access: Ensure fair and equitable access to biohacking technologies and resources, irrespective of socioeconomic status, gender, race, or other factors.
- Resource Allocation: Distribute resources and opportunities in a manner that prioritizes need and promotes inclusivity within the community.
- Collective Responsibility: Advocate for systemic changes that improve accessibility and justice in augmentation practices.
- Empower Individual Choice: Respect and uphold the rights of individuals to make informed and voluntary decisions about their own bodies and augmentation.
- Informed Consent: Provide complete and comprehensible information to participants to enable autonomous and educated decision-making.
- Respect for Diversity: Acknowledge and support diverse perspectives, values, and preferences within the community.

Respectful Communication:
- Use welcoming and inclusive language.
- Be considerate of differing viewpoints and experiences.
- Gracefully accept constructive criticism.
- Focus on what is best for the community.

- Share knowledge and resources.
- Offer help and support when needed.
- Acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of others.

Awareness of Community Guidelines:
- Familiarize yourself community rules and guidelines.
- Follow any additional rules posted or pinned in community spaces.

Harassment and Discrimination:
- Harassment of any type, including intentionally provocative, racial, or LGBTQIA+ phobic comments.
- Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental health, neurotype, physical appearance, body size, age, race, ethnicity, nationality, language, or religion.
- Deliberate misgendering or use of "dead" or rejected names.
- Unwelcome comments about a person's lifestyle choices and practices, including those related to food, health, parenting, drugs, employment, and body modification.

Violence and Threats:
- Threats of violence or incitement to violence.
- Encouraging a person to commit self-harm or suicide.
- Deliberate intimidation or stalking.

Invasion of Privacy:
- Sharing or threatening to share someone's Personally Identifiable Information (PII) without consent.
- Harassing photography or recording.
- Logging online activity for harassment purposes.
- Deliberate "outing" of any aspect of a person's identity or activities without consent.
- Collection or distribution of non-harassing private communication without consent.

Unwelcome Physical Contact:
- Physical contact or simulated physical contact (e.g., textual descriptions like "hug" or "backrub") without consent or after a request to stop.

Disruption and Bullying:
- Sustained disruption of discussions or events.
- Unwelcome sexual attention or advances.
- Pattern of inappropriate social contact, such as making unwelcome sexual comments or repeatedly requesting personal interactions.
- Continued one-on-one communication after requests to cease.

Spamming and Solicitation:
- Spamming, trolling, or posting irrelevant or inappropriate content.
- Unsolicited advertising or self-promotion without community consent.

Reporting Violations:
- If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it to the community organizers or moderators immediately.
- Reports can be made by contacting the moderation or server management teams.
- All reports will be handled confidentially and with discretion.

Consequences:
- Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.
- Harassment and severe violations can and will result in harsh punishment, including warnings, temporary bans, or permanent expulsion from the community.
- Specific actions may be taken based on the severity and frequency of the violation.

Appeals:
- Individuals subject to enforcement actions may appeal by contacting the community organizers with a concise description of their grievance.
- Appeals will be reviewed and decided upon by a designated panel.

Awareness of Rules:
- Specific channels and spaces (physical or virtual) may have additional rules pinned or posted.
- These rules are enforced at all times in their respective channels, regardless of whether a user has read them.

General Conduct:
- This list is not exhaustive. Members are expected to exercise common sense and good judgment.
- The community reserves the right to modify these rules as needed and to remove individuals who are not a good fit or who exhibit detrimental behavior.

- We are dedicated to continuous improvement and welcome feedback from the community.
- Suggestions for amendments to this Code of Conduct and Guiding Principles can be submitted to the community organizers or as a pull request on GitHub.

- This document will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
- Rules are not "set in stone" and are intended to change and grow with the community.
