The script calculates how to link the portals to create the largest tidy set of nested fields. To get an overview, consider to watch/read the reviews.

Fan Fields 2 — User Guide

Fan Fields 2 is an IITC plugin to plan fanfields/starfields/multilayer builds. It calculates a buildable link/field plan, key requirements, and basic AP stats.

Requirements

  • IITC CE

Required plugin

Supported plugins:

Quick start

  1. Select portals

    • Open Draw Tools.
    • Draw one or more polygons around the portals you want to include.
    • Polygons may overlap or be separate.
  2. Enable Fan Fields layers

    • In the layer chooser, enable:
      • Fanfield Links
      • Fanfield Fields
      • Fanfield Numbers
  3. Check the plan on the map

    • The plan is shown as red links.
    • Link directions are shown by dashed segments at the origin portal.
  4. Adjust the anchor (start portal)

    • Use Cycle Start to move the anchor along the outer hull portals.
    • To allow an inside portal to become anchor: place a Draw Tools marker on that portal, then use Cycle Start until it becomes the start portal.
  5. Choose build strategy

    • Inbounding: farm many keys at the anchor, link to it from other portals.
    • Outbounding: star-link from the anchor until the outgoing-link limit is reached.
    • Toggle Inbounding / Outbounding in the Fan Fields panel.
  6. (Optional) Avoid existing intel links

    • Toggle Respect Intel: ON/OFF to plan while avoiding crosslinks to current intel links.
  7. (Optional) Freeze the plan

    • Toggle Unlocked / Locked to prevent recalculation while inspecting details.
