Basic Mininet in a Docker Image. Currently supported are the current Mininet release (v2.2.2) and the latest (05. April 2020) tagged commit (v2.3.0d6).
If not other specified this image bases upon debian:stretch-slim.
Execute the following command to test if the images works with the basic built-in test, you may want to add -v debug at the end for more output.
Normal Run:
docker run --privileged hanszimmer5000/mininet:v2.2-latest mn --test pingallRun with X11 and xterm (with Help from StackOverflow):
XSOCK=/tmp/.X11-unix
XAUTH=/tmp/.docker.xauth
xauth nlist :0 | sed -e 's/^..../ffff/' | xauth -f $XAUTH nmerge -
docker run \
--rm \
--privileged \
-it \
-e DISPLAY="$DISPLAY" \
-e XAUTHORITY=$XAUTH \
-v $XSOCK:$XSOCK \
-v $XAUTH:$XAUTH \
hanszimmer5000/mininet:v2.2.2-v1.1 \
xtermUnfortunately the --privileged is not mandatory. Which special rights mininet uses, I haven't looked up yet.
