This repository contains functions to handle gridded (ICON) data on HEALPix and regular latitude-longitude grids in Python. These functions include remapping to rectilinear latitude-longitude grids, the calculation of spherical derivatives, and much more.

Functions to calculate spherical derivatives on the HEALPix grid were adapted from those initially developed by Divya Sri Praturi.

Functions to calculate the surface area of a grid cell in a regular rectilinear latitude-longitude grid were developed by Sebastian Ortega.
