Ensure all relevant LSL streams are showing up in the left-hand stream list. If any streams are missing, double-check that their LSL outlets are running and press the "Refresh" button.
- Hit "Browse" to select a folder to store your streamed data
- Set the "Trial Name" to follow whatever naming convention you prefer. A counter will automatically be appended to the end of the name (starting with _001) and will increment each time you complete a recording.
- Ensure the Motive/Vicon stream has "Control" checked. This enables Lab Remote to simultaneously trigger Motive/Vicon to begin recording and set the trial name to match whatever you set in Lab Remote. This is key, as streaming all the motion capture markers over LSL proved can result in excessive frame loss. By just streaming frame ids through LSL, you are able to take advantage of the leaning tools provided by each software system.
- Select "Auto Play Beep" if you'd like an auditory cue to play after you press "Start Trial" (we usually set a 1-second delay). You can also manually trigger this beep to play by pressing the button for it.
- Press the "Start Trial" button to begin recording. You should see motive/vicon also begin recording as long as "Control" checkbox was checked for it in the "Data Stream" list.
- You can optionally play more auditory cues, or trigger event flags to be stored in the resulting trial xdf file.
- Once the trial is finished, hit "Stop Trial"
