Now - March 15: Potential GSoC contributors reach out about project ideas. Add Org Admins and Mentors as soon as possible.

March 16 - 31 18:00 UTC: Potential GSoC contributors submit proposals through the program website for you to give solid feedback on.

April 1-20: Orgs review GSoC contributor proposals, determining how many to accept based on mentor availability, and rank them accordingly. Each selected project requires at least one assigned mentor.

April 21 18:00 UTC: Deadline to submit ranked contributor slot requests (Org Admins enter requests)

April 21 - 28: Google Program Admins review and assign org slots

April 29: Organizations receive notification of their accepted GSoC 2026 Contributors

April 30 18:00 UTC: Accepted GSoC 2026 GSoC Contributor projects are announced

May 1 - 24: Community Bonding Period: Deadline to notify Google Admins of an inactive GSoC Contributor that you wish to remove from the program

May 25: Coding begins!
