Mostly looks good, but could you eliminate the commas after e.g. and i.e.?
Changed from American English style (e.g.,) to British English style (e.g.) for consistency with the rest of the codebase."

Thanks! Perhaps I'm biased towards that style as I'm British, but ., just looks wrong to me.
