This is a beta build of v0.2.0. I'm not sure when I will release the next version, so I'll put it here.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Gremlin Leader's summoning move not available
  • Fixed bug where putting a Monster Card in a Bottle is not properly saved
  • Looter's gold stealing move now always costs at least 1
  • Fixed bug where Substitute takes double damage while you are in Wrath
  • Fixed Mind Control not finishing the combat when it steals some enemies with minions (ex. Collector)
  • Reduced Color Tint on Monster Cards
  • Minions now show the correct damage preview affected by their power
  • Fixed some other crash related to Mind Control which I forgot :(
  • Fixed some powers not working properly on Copycat's minions
  • Fixed tutorial appearing incorrectly

Card Changes

  • Toxic Minds renamed to Contrast
  • Hybrid Movement renamed to Hybrid Defense
  • Copycat Form damage & Block: 3(4) -> 4(6)
  • Glowing Card
    • Now costs 1(playable).
    • Block gain: 6(9) -> 7(10)
    • Healing effect removed
  • Slime Slasher
    • Damage: 8(12) -> 8(8)
    • Damage per slime kill: 0.5(0.5) -> 0.5(1)
  • Mind Control HP threshold: 15(20)X -> 10(15)X
  • Phantom Slime
    • Slime's HP: 8 -> 6

Relic Changes

  • Lucky Bag
    • Plated Armor when using Skill: 3 -> 4

Other Changes

  • Apology Slime renamed to Pet Slime
  • Elite/Boss fights now offer rarer Monster Cards more.
    • Normal: 100%/50%/33%
    • Elite: 100%/100%/100%
    • Boss: 33%/50%/100%
  • Some wording improvements

With a decent number of class cards and implemented all planned features, this marks the first Beta release. I appreciate any feedback, but keep in mind that art is largely unfinished.

Changes from v0.0.2

New stuff

  • Class cards implemented: 21 -> 42
  • Wrote proper README.md
  • Added art to several cards, as well as Spiredex blight.
  • Now monster cards have rarity. Uncommon and Rare cards appear at about 50%/33% chance when compared to Common cards.
  • You can now view Monster Cards properly at run history.
  • Add Redirect command to BaseMod console.
  • Color code minion's HP bar as well as enemy's intent icon.
  • Target arrow is displayed on hovering enemies if they are attacking your minion.

Bug fixes

  • Various minion retarget bug
  • Friendly Minions bugs
    • Enemy choosing which minion to attack was not seeded.
    • Custom attack icon was sometimes not displayed.
    • Minions are invisible in event battle.
  • You could receive Monster Card from previous combat as reward after save & load, if you save & load the game at every floor between them.
  • You could not gain gold from attack Monster Card if it finished the combat.
  • The text from ThoughtBubbles were invisible.
  • Spiredex now shows the monster card tooltip.
  • Monster card id is now properly saved.

Stance changes

  • Protective rework: While you are in Protective, all enemies target you. NL When you exit Protective, all attacking enemies change their target to a random Minion.

Class card changes

  • Beat Up now shows total damage while not hovering over enemies.
  • Clear Body rework
    • Cost: X -> 1, Block: 6(8) times X -> 8(11)
    • Stance bonus: Gain 1 energy -> Draw 2 cards
  • Clear Fist rework
    • Damage: 10(14) -> 10(13)
    • Stance bonus: Deal 5(7) damage -> Draw 2 cards
  • Grab rework
    • Cost 1. Deal 8(11) damage. If the enemy intends to attack, enter Protective.
  • Heavy Slam damage: 16(22) -> 15(20)
  • Plagiarized Strike renamed to Hybrid Strike
  • Me first damage: 9(12) -> 10(14), block: 9(12) -> 10(14)
  • Reticle is displayed on your minions when you try to use cards that affect you minions.
  • Metronome now uses proper RNG.
  • Few cards are banned from Metronome.
  • Stance change now exhausts (loses Exhaust when upgrade)
  • Stance change+ cost: 0 -> 1
  • Added HEALING tag to Twin Slicer
  • Well Prepared now checks to Strength threshold when you use the card

Monster card changes

  • Area Heal healing: 8(11) -> 7(10)
  • Divider cost: 3 -> 4(3)
  • Divider+ does not increase damage.
  • Dynamic card: Now Frail always translates to Poison, amount is doubled if Poison is the only magicnumber of the card.
  • Various adjustment to Dynamic Card value.
  • Potion giving cards now upgrades to 3 potions. (was 2)
  • SummonMonsterCard now show the general MirrorMinion tooltip.
  • Cost and HP of SummonMonsterCard is adjusted, now some cards cost 2.
  • Ultimate Blast no longer has Exhaust, it now has Ethereal.
  • Ultimate Blast on ascension 3 now costs 3.

  • Enemy image gen method is changed.

    • Now it (hopefully) works with modded enemies.
    • If you played v0.0.1, delete the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%/ModTheSpire/CopycatMod to recreate images.
  • Now you no longer get cards from other characters as reward.

  • Implemented Copycat-only cards: 21/38

  • Implemented Summon system.

    • Copycat minions move at the end of your turn.
    • Mirror Minion copies enemy move.
    • Each minion has 25% chance to be targeted by each attacking enemy.
    • Fix Friendly Minions oddity when enemies attack your minion.
      • Enemy attack animation is now displayed on the target (instead of always displayed on you)
      • Minions can get Poison, Weak, Frail, Vulnerable and Strength down.
      • Enemies will change their target when their target minion dies.
  • Implemented new Stance: Protective

  • Spiredex is now a Blight. It no longer add to a card reward, it replaces the first card reward

  • New starting relic: Lucky Bag

    • When you play the first card in combat, gain a bonus effect based on its type.
  • Copycat's Max HP: 96 -> 88

  • Card changes:

    • Fixed bug where upgraded DynamicCard was not saving properly.
    • Champ's Anger: Effect changed to "Gain 6(8) Strength. Next turn, enter Wrath. Exhaust."
    • Divider: Cost 2 -> 3
    • Fading Attack: Damage 20 -> 10
    • Haste2: Cost 3 -> 4
    • Implant: Cost 1 -> 0
    • It is time: Cost 2 -> 1, damage 15 -> 5
    • MultiStabbing & MultiStabbing2: Now has Innate.
    • No Move: Changed to "Gain 1(2) energy."
    • Perplexing Eye: Draw per turn 2(2) -> 2(1)
    • Perplexing Eye+ no longer has Innate.
    • Area Metallicize renamed to Metallicize All
    • Metronome now uses the target instead of being random.
    • Mirror Move is now Skill
    • Sketch+: cost 1 -> 0
