I noticed the missing PR and suggested to recreate in a branch of the main repository. However, I don't see much of a problem to make the release from this PR. |

I got a bit muddled merging the changes from the DICTIONARY_AUTHORS PR into the release-1 branch, so I have created a new "initial-release" branch which I hope is a clean and consistent set of files. Noticed that README.md could usefully be updated at the same time to clarify the role of the release version.
