Project name:

NASA bioscience-dashboard

Introduction:

NASA dashboard is a hackathon team-project. It is a dynamic dashboard webapp which user to search for NASA bio-science publication through keywords and get helpful summary and visuals to understand the report in a better way. This project used 608 review reports from the NASA provided dataset.

Project demo video:

Overview:

Our project is an interactive web dashboard that transforms NASA bioscience publications and experiment data into an accessible, searchable knowledge engine. Using Streamlit, pandas, and network graph visualization, users can explore key space biology experiments, view concise summaries, and understand the impact of research on future human spaceflight.

Features:

Searchable Publication Explorer:

Users can search and filter NASA bioscience publications by keywords.

Detailed Summaries:

Each publication includes a custom summary and experiment description.

Human-Space Interaction Insights:

For every experiment, the dashboard explains its relevance to astronaut health and future missions.

Similar NASA Experiments:

Direct links to related NASA studies and experiments are provided for deeper exploration.

Challenge Alignment:

This project directly addresses the “Build a Space Biology Knowledge Engine” challenge by integrating, summarizing, and visualizing space bioscience data. It empowers researchers, educators, and the public to discover connections between experiments and their implications for human space exploration.

Tech Stack:

Python (Streamlit, pandas, pyvis, scikit-learn)

NASA Datasets used:

A list of 608 full-text open-access NASA Space Biology publications NASA Open Science Data Repository

Impact:

Our project bridges the gap between raw scientific data and actionable insights, supporting NASA’s mission to human performance in space.
