Thanks for the contribution
I only went over you code cuickly
I think it would be better to split the PR in smaller PRs with a specific goal for each instead of mixing up everything
Also, it might be worth removing commented code lines or implement a parameter to activate / deactivate a verbose mode for the cecho function
Renaming the cecho function to something sefl explanatory might be positive
