This is a fork of the Theme Engine for MARS (MIPS Assembler and Runtime Simulator).

This fork aims to make MARS have a modern UI, making it more usable for students and teachers. The project is currently in a very early stage, and is not ready for production or education use. If you are looking for a stable version of MARS, please use the original project.

Usage

Go to Releases. You'll see Mars.jar and MarsDarkTheme.reg. Download them and run Mars.jar. If you are using Windows, you can double click MarsDarkTheme.reg to apply the dark theme before you run jar.

Security Notice

This project is not affiliated with Missouri State University. The original project is hosted at https://courses.missouristate.edu/KenVollmar/mars/. Please use the original project if you are looking for a stable version of MARS.

Also, as reg files will change your registry, you should be careful before you run MarsDarkTheme.reg. Before merging it into your Windows, you should right click it and select "Edit". All keys in the file should be under [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\mars]. If you see something else, please do not run the file. Otherwise, you can safely run it.

How to install?

You have the option to:

• Wait until this unofficial version gets added to the official version, no promises.
• Download it by downloading the "Mars4_5_1_1Unofficial.jar" file from the repository
