Usage

This page helps with the usage of our plugin; once it is already installed (see Installation if have not installed yet), there are few instructions and concepts to be presented.

As a consequence of our efforts to design an autonomic management tool, after installed and running there is not much that the cloud admin needs to do. The only thing that requires a manual setup from the admin is the algorithm that holds the heuristics that the administrator wants to use.

Change the heuristic

To change the autonomic system heuristics, see the following steps:

• go to "Global Settings" view and search for the "autonomiccs.clustermanager.algorithm" variable;
• write the full qualified name of the heuristic algorithm (see some heuristics ) and save the configuration;
• finish configuration pressing "close" in the message given (attention, our solution does not require the CloudStack management server to be restarted after a change in its configuration, as the message says).

After configuring the desired heuristic you can sit back and let the management agent do its work. It will strive to do the best it can with the knowledge that it is provided with.
