# Step 3 PRs Merge Strategy

## Current Status

**Main Branch**: Currently at Step 2 completion (commit `47f8586`)
**Step 3 PRs**: All three PRs are complete but **NOT merged into main**

### PR Status

| PR # | Agent | Branch | Status | Commits |
|------|-------|--------|--------|---------|
| #7 | Composer | `step3-product-hubs-composer-1` | ✅ Complete | 2 commits |
| #8 | Claude Opus | `step3-product-hubs-claude-opus-4` | ✅ Complete | 1 commit |
| #9 | Codex GPT-5.1 | `step3-product-hubs-codex-gpt-5-1-high` | ✅ Complete | 1 commit |

## Merge Strategy

Based on the recommendations from the Step 3 comparison PDF, here's the recommended merge approach:

### Option 1: Synthesized Merge (Recommended)

Create a new branch that combines the best of all three PRs:

```bash
# Create synthesis branch from main
git checkout main
git pull origin main
git checkout -b step3-product-hubs-synthesized
# Merge all three PRs
git merge origin/step3-product-hubs-claude-opus-4 # Base implementation
git merge origin/step3-product-hubs-codex-gpt-5-1-high # Comprehensive docs
git merge origin/step3-product-hubs-composer-1 # Templates
# Resolve any conflicts, prioritizing:
# 1. Claude's implementation (cleanest)
# 2. Codex's documentation (most comprehensive)
# 3. Composer's templates (reusable)
```

### Option 2: Sequential Merge

Merge PRs one at a time, starting with the cleanest:

```bash
# 1. Start with Claude (cleanest implementation)
git checkout main
git checkout -b step3-merge-claude
git merge origin/step3-product-hubs-claude-opus-4
# 2. Add Codex documentation
git merge origin/step3-product-hubs-codex-gpt-5-1-high
# Resolve conflicts, keep Codex docs where they're more comprehensive
# 3. Add Composer templates
git merge origin/step3-product-hubs-composer-1
# Keep any unique templates from Composer
```

### Option 3: Single PR Merge (Fastest)

Merge the most comprehensive PR (Codex) and manually add missing pieces:

```bash
git checkout main
git checkout -b step3-merge-codex
git merge origin/step3-product-hubs-codex-gpt-5-1-high
# Then manually cherry-pick or add:
# - Any unique templates from Composer
# - Any implementation details from Claude not in Codex
```

## Recommended Approach: Option 1 (Synthesized)

### Why Synthesized Merge?

1. **Combines Strengths**:
- Claude's clean implementation
- Codex's comprehensive documentation
- Composer's reusable templates

2. **Single Clean History**: One merge commit instead of three

3. **Best Practices**: Follows the PDF recommendations exactly

### Merge Steps

1. **Create synthesis branch**:
```bash
git checkout main
git pull origin main
git checkout -b step3-product-hubs-synthesized
```

2. **Merge Claude first** (base implementation):
```bash
git merge origin/step3-product-hubs-claude-opus-4 -m "Merge PR #8: Claude Opus implementation"
```

3. **Merge Codex** (comprehensive docs):
```bash
git merge origin/step3-product-hubs-codex-gpt-5-1-high -m "Merge PR #9: Codex comprehensive documentation"
```
- Resolve conflicts: Prefer Codex's documentation where it's more detailed
- Keep Claude's implementation where it's cleaner

4. **Merge Composer** (templates):
```bash
git merge origin/step3-product-hubs-composer-1 -m "Merge PR #7: Composer templates"
```
- Keep any unique template files from Composer
- Ensure no duplicate documentation

5. **Review and test**:
- Verify all files are present
- Check for duplicate documentation
- Ensure templates are included

6. **Create PR to main**:
```bash
git push origin step3-product-hubs-synthesized
# Create PR: "Step 3: Product Hubs (Synthesized from PRs #7, #8, #9)"
```

## Conflict Resolution Guide

### Documentation Files
- **If multiple docs exist**: Keep Codex's version (most comprehensive)
- **If templates exist**: Keep Composer's templates
- **If implementation details differ**: Prefer Claude's cleaner approach

### File Conflicts
- `notion/product-hubs-step3-*.md`: Keep Codex version, archive others
- Template files: Keep all unique templates from Composer
- Implementation files: Prefer Claude's implementation

### Notion Changes
- All three PRs made changes to Notion (Product Hub pages)
- These should be compatible (all created same pages)
- Verify in Notion that all pages exist and are correct

## Post-Merge Checklist

After merging to main:

- [ ] Verify all three PR branches are merged
- [ ] Check that all documentation files are present
- [ ] Ensure templates are included
- [ ] Verify Notion pages are correct
- [ ] Update `notion/step3-completion.md` with merge status
- [ ] Close original PRs #7, #8, #9 (if they're still open)
- [ ] Post Slack update to #founder-os channel
- [ ] Proceed to Step 4 preparation

## Files to Verify After Merge

### Documentation
- `notion/product-hubs-step3-codex-gpt-5-1-high.md` (primary doc)
- `notion/product-hubs-step3-claude.md` (if unique content)
- `notion/product-hubs-step3-composer-1.md` (if unique content)
- `notion/bearo-hub-content.md` (from Composer)
- `notion/product-hub-templates.md` (from Composer)

### Notion Pages (verify in Notion UI)
- BEARO Hub
- AlphaBuilder Hub
- Primape Hub
- Chimpanion Hub
- BEARCO Ecosystem Hub

## Next Steps After Merge

1. **Manual Configuration**: Apply filters in Notion UI (see `step3-completion.md`)
2. **Verification**: Use checklist in `step3-completion.md`
3. **Step 4**: Proceed with Founder Dashboard implementation

---

**Status**: Ready for merge
**Recommended**: Option 1 (Synthesized Merge)
**Priority**: High (blocks Step 4)
