👋 Jules, reporting for duty! I'm here to lend a hand with this pull request. When you start a review, I'll add a 👀 emoji to each comment to let you know I've read it. I'll focus on feedback directed at me and will do my best to stay out of conversations between you and other bots or reviewers to keep the noise down. I'll push a commit with your requested changes shortly after. Please note there might be a delay between these steps, but rest assured I'm on the job! For more direct control, you can switch me to Reactive Mode. When this mode is on, I will only act on comments where you specifically mention me with New to Jules? Learn more at jules.google/docs. Description
Severity: MEDIUM
Vulnerability:
The Mistral agent's FastAPI endpoints (
/gap-analysis,/code-review,/ask) were catching genericExceptionobjects and raising anHTTPException(status_code=500, detail=str(e)). This configuration exposes raw internal application stack traces, file paths, logic conditions, or underlying network/dependency errors directly to external HTTP clients when an error occurs.Impact:
Information Leakage. An attacker or unauthorized user could use the exposed stack traces and internal error states to glean information about the platform's backend structure, dependency errors (such as missing/failing API keys or model names), and internal architecture. This aids in targeted reconnaissance and attack crafting.
Fix:
Replaced
detail=str(e)in theHTTPExceptionwith a generic, safe response:"An internal server error occurred".Included the
loggingmodule to securely log the internal details server-side vialogging.error(f"Error in [endpoint]: {e}").Updated Sentinel's critical learning journal (
.jules/sentinel.md) with this pattern to prevent future occurrences.Verification:
Running
python -m pytestindicates 13 test pass with 0 failures, ensuring the codebase is fully intact and backwards compatible.Signed-off-by: Sentinel 🛡️
