fixing a handful of security vulnerabilities highlighted by dependabot:

    grunt need to update to 1.3.0
    xmlhttprequest-ssl needs to upodate to 1.5.5 or later
        karma latest is 6.3.2
    http-proxy need to update to 1.18.0 or later
        karma latest is 6.3.2
    diff need update to 3.5.0 or later
        mocha latest is 8.4.0
    js-yaml nmeed update to 3.13.1 or later 
        coveralls latest is 3.1.0
    cached-path-relative needs 1.0.2 or later
        grunt-browserify latest is 6.0.0
    marked needs 0.3.18 or later
        grunt-jsdoc need to update to 2.4.1
