DXMT supports HDR, and it can be enabled if:

  1. Your game supports HDR. (If you don't see HDR in game settings, then the game likely doesn't support HDR).

  2. Your display supports HDR. (MacBook 2018+ built-in display and Apple Pro Display XDR support HDR for sure).

  3. You have HDR enabled in (macOS) System Settings.

  • If it's MacBook built-in display and Apple Pro Display XDR, choose a Color Profile that supports HDR output. For example: Apple XDR Display (P3-1600 nits).
  • If it's an external display, toggle High Dynamic Range in display setting.
  1. Some (but not all) games requires Vendor Extensions to enable HDR.

Unreal Engine DX11 HDR by configuration

Well, yes you can force enabling HDR via Engine.ini tweaks but unfortunately their DX11 HDR implementation is broken until 5.4.
