Achieving the same results in Firefox without an extension

Google_AI_Overviews_Blocker works by hiding Google's AI results. This is not optimal for me, because I don't want Google to perform any AI-related search at all. I had hoped the extension would either add "-ai" into the search string or default to Google's "web" tab in the search results, but it does neither.
