If you could add the ability to export a heightmap (and alternatively a normal map), where the "height" of the object's Z is along an RGB luminance spectrum (greyscale, dark=floor, white=ceiling), you could cast shadows and do projections in the game engine in real time. You don't necessarily need to have normal map exporting, because other tools can convert a heightmap to a normal map.
