systemd-sslh-generator does not use /etc/sslh.cfg

The docs here specify that systemd-sslh-generator uses configuration in /etc/sslh.cfg and in /etc/sslh/, but I am getting this error and no generated configuration with config only in /etc/sslh.cfg:

systemd-sslh-generator: Configuration directory '/etc/sslh/' does not exist! No units generated.

It looks like support for the config file was removed here: #231 . Was that intended and the documentation wasn't updated, or was that done by mistake?
