Description
I understand that realtime audio transmission and large data transfers are not supported in the base firmware or existing control software. However, in order to access recordings from a PC the scanner must first be rebooted in USB mode or else the SD card must be manually removed.
So, if there was some way to send the completed .wav files whilst the radio was still scanning then this could be fed into rdio-scanner or other streaming facilities for personal consumption online. (Ideally the .wav audio filenames could be expanded to include TGID and other metadata but that is not essentail as this could be extracted from the .wav file by the consuming app/script.)
There would need to be a program to consume these and I would be happy to develop that if it helps. This would ideally link to the scanner in serial mode, ingest the .wav files, optionally reformat the filenames and then place them in a configurable directory for consumption by other established utilities. This would be much more useful than just using Voxcall as rather than all audio getting allocated to one channel/talkgroup, you can discriminate between all the different systems/talkgroups/units down the line.
There could be a separate license charge for this feature if that helped motivate the development as I know you are very busy! I am certain that there would be many people who cannot benefit from decryption facilities but who would use love this functionality.
Thanks again for the fabulous firmware!
