No pad-added Signal in tutorial-3.js

So first of all thank you for these Tutorials. Im currently stuck on creating a pipeline using uridecodebin/decodebin and used your tutorial-3 as an example. Everything except the "pad-added" Signal being emitted works. Is this a known Issue or am I doing something wrong? While reading the gstreamer Documentation i found that the uridecodebin or rather decodebin does emit a "source-setup" Event when the source is created which works flawlessy but obviously doesnt suffice.

I tried with node-gtk@0.5.1 and node-gtk@0.5.0

Thanks for reporting the issue. The example used to work and I have to find out which change in node-gtk broke it.
The main issue here is that bus.timedPopFiltered is locking the main thread. Once you remove it, you get the pad-added event fired. I have to figure out what's wrong here.

In the meantime you can have a look at https://github.com/romgrk/node-gtk/blob/master/examples/gst.js, which provides a similar example (probably) without blocking.

So based on your suggestion I tried the example in the link you provided. While doing this i tried using glib and gtk as mainloop. By using Gtk and invoking it with Gtk.main() the pipeline starts working right away and the pad-added Event gets triggered as expected.
