Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe
When there is a large time gap of more than a year, it doesn't make sense to show a day and month when we don't even know which year it would be.
Describe the solution you'd like
We could update the date formatting, but we need to determine when the switch is, the exact date format and what the format should be in the tooltip.
Describe alternatives you've considered
We could also make the dateFormatter customizable to the user.
