When installing doing a fresh install of extension in VS-Code it only triggers the connection to exist-db after opening an xquery file. If doesn't matter if everything is configured properly many times over. It makes it look like the extension isn't working properly. So either we should put something on the readme, or make sure that the connection can be triggered even when its not an xquery file on wishes to work upon.

I had a quick look: the extension itself can be initialized immediately, but unfortunately most of the visible functionality is connected to the langserver and this only gets started when an XQuery document is opened. I'll see if we could provide some other visual feedback, but not sure how.

I was wondering if maybe the lists of file extensions that are registered with the extension is responsible. Might be worth adding .xml, .xconf or checking for the presence of .xconf or repo.xml in the workspace, given they are exist-db specific. Otherwise a note on the readme should do it. It only really bites if you decide to give the whole VS a fresh look at, and start with some xml editing …queue 1h of why isn't this working ;-)
