Long filenames

Hello! Big fan of this plugin. I use it on a project with fairly deep folders, and the end of the filenames I'm searching for are often hidden because they run off screen. Is there a way to scroll horizontally on the list of filenames to see this? Thanks

Not yet!

My inclination is that truncating might actually be preferable to scrolling. At the beginning might be workable:

.../some/long/path.txt

At the end seems like it wouldn't help at all and effectively already happens (but without the ellipsis):

lib/package/some/long/path/...

Finally, in the middle:

lib/package/something/.../long/path/example.txt

I feel like both the beginning and the end of each path are likely to be the most valuable bits, so I am vaguely inclined to think that in-the-middle ellision might be best, but maybe it should be configurable.

On the other hand, maybe adding some mappings to allow you to scroll would be preferred by some folks. What do you think?

Oh yeah, I like in-the-middle elision best for sure. Would be nice to have it configurable, but having that as the default sounds good.

I can imagine people would like to have the option to scroll, but I think for most cases, I'd prefer the middle elision. Thanks for the quick response!

I went back and checked and the Ruby version used in-the-middle elision, so I'll start with that:

Implemented in bc19b7d. Hopefully got it right on the first try, but the arithmetic is tricky, so let me know if you see any bugs.

Fun fact, the Ruby code for doing the middle ellpisis dates back to 16 years ago 😱.
