Enhance the widget placement experience by enabling users to drag and drop widgets directly onto the canvas, replacing the current modal-based drag-and-drop workflow. This feature aims to provide a more intuitive and seamless interface, allowing users to visually position widgets in real-time, improving workflow efficiency and user experience.
Proposed Functionality:
Users can drag widgets from a sidebar or toolbar and drop them onto the canvas at the desired location.
Support real-time preview of widget placement during dragging.
Maintain existing functionality for precise positioning (e.g., snap-to-grid, alignment guides).
Ensure compatibility with existing widget customization options.
