Changing page size un-sorts

When a table is displayed with a sort applied, and the page size is changed, the table becomes unsorted.

I would also add that the same thing occurs when the table is filtered. It appears that the issue relates to the difference between using a direct GET link (e.g. when changing pages) compared with the change in an input submitting the form - I'm speculating because the sort parameters always appear in the query after the token, which is being loaded from the form?

I'm happy to work on resolving this if someone can offer a suggested path, since the exact mechanism of what's happening isn't clear to me.
