Installing the extension before it is released to the market place?

I would like to try installing this latest changes, (the fix for the basic parser) but haven’t figure out how to install this from a cloned copy.

I am the person writing in the OpenVMS forum about basic parsing problems, so I figured if I could test this here, I would provide feedback directly. I haven’t worked with VS Code extensions (other than using them) so I am not sure what step I need to follow after I clone the repo.

Just as an aside, there is a bunch of example vms basic code here: http://neilrieck.net/demo_vms_html/openvms_demo_index.html which compiles fine, but has errors when parsing in the VMS-IDE extension.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to fix the problem. It was written by someone else several years ago.

Can you give me me a hint how to test this locally? Basically install this in my vscode? I “might” be able to make head or tails of it if I can install and run the version under development.

It is not so easy.

1. Install node.js
2. Install ANTLR4
3. Build basic grammar - in the VSCode, via menu Terminal\Run task
4. Build extension.
5. Install from .VSIX

There are only hints, not the instruction.
