Some modern notebooks do not support the legacy SMM interface used by dell-smm-hwmon anymore.
Does the directory "/sys/bus/wmi/devices/8A42EA14-4F2A-FD45-6422-0087F7A7E608" exist? If yes, then your notebook might support a different interface for reading fan/thermal sensors. In such a case, you might take a look on this.
