what's the best way to open a new tab of Wasabi with an associated XML aln/tree file?

I would like to associate a URL, e.g. a local Wasabi server,
that loads an XML aln/tree file that has been created. E.g.

http://localhost:port?file=xyz.xml

Is this the best way to have a new tab appear that opens a Wasabi session with the aln/tree info loaded?
