Is it possible to disable spell checking alt attribute values?

When running Vale on an AsciiDoc file, if there are images without alt texts, AsciiDoc will use the file path as the alt text (with some replacements like dashes to spaces). Vale can then report a spelling error on the following occurrence of the same string in a place which is not part of the resulting document text even, like another image path or a link URL.

I understand that Vale wants to check alt texts as well, but as a workaround I’m wondering if I can disable that?

You can define a TokenIgnores pattern:

[*.adoc]
TokenIgnores = (image::.+\[\])

Of course, the best "workaround" here is probably to provide accessibility-friendly alt text.

Yes, I agree. But we have so many pre-existing issues, that sometimes it's easier to reduce some of the "noise" before we get to fixing them.
