Posts not updating (issue fixed read here how I fixed)

Hi Vaakash,

i hope you are doing well. I’m facing an issue with the Git It Write plugin:

When I pull repository updates, modified .md files do not update in WordPress. (works only for the first few files)
If I use the “Pull Everything” option, it only re-imports old files and creates duplicates of existing posts, instead of updating the posts which were already there.
When connected via webhook, it works the first time for a few files, but afterwards even though the webhook deliveries show as successful (both in GitHub’s recent deliveries and in the plugin’s “last updated” log), the posts in WordPress still do not update.
Also updates did not show in the logs it just says now new updates found i assume this issue is from github side but idk, may be you could help me on this
Could you please check this behavior or suggest a fix?

Hello Vaakash,

Just wanted to give you a quick update, I’ve fixed the issue. The problem was with GitHub serving a cached version of the raw .md file. Although the file’s SHA was updating immediately (which I confirmed by adding a debugger), the raw file URL was still delivering outdated content.

To resolve this, I updated the repository.php file so it now fetches raw data directly from the GitHub API instead of the raw.githubusercontent.com URL. This completely bypasses the cache, and the problem is solved. I hope you will fix this in your next update. : )
