Jessica - hackweek goals: collection of different challenges to hit the ground running at the hackweek (eg. Lisa & Rachel work on cloud access efficiencies + centralizing the tools)
Ben - tutorial curation overview - debugging notebooks, updating packages, working through a list of tutorials (more on the beginner side)

Planned Work

Ben - look into the more advanced tutorials/tools that need to be updated for the more advanced users
Zachary - LLM/AI discussion on Wednesday of the hackweek could be an opportunity for a best practices conversation
Chance - Visualization tutorial - Google Earth Engine updates needed // pulling together dependencies // OpenAltimetry may not work unless updated (tutorial made before the API update)
Jessica/Rachel - GEDI & IS2 access - Sliderule & EarthAccess testing + refining hackweek goals (before and during the hackweek) + tool aggregration + roadmap

Some notes from discussions with @JessicaS11:

• Possible pre-hackweek deliverable: big compilation of Icesat-2 access tools [level 1] a list of all of the ways that exist to access Icesat-2 data [level 2] when those tools work well/don’t work well for data access (and maybe processing?) [level 3] open questions about when those tools work well/don’t work well for data access (and maybe processing?) (Ex. [level 1] icepyx — [level 2] works incredibly well for local access; has the capacity to stream cloud data; cloud streaming works well for small amounts of data — [level 3] Is there a size threshold above which streaming cloud data in icepyx becomes too slow to make sense?
• Possible hackweek goal: product roadmap this could be a product roadmap for individual tools (ex. icepyx) or one for the Icesat-2 data access system as a whole (including earthaccess, icepyx, Sliderule, Cryocloud, more?) An example of an org/community with an open source product roadmap setup is pangeo-forge.
