Description
I just saw the post from OMG Ubuntu, and I haven’t had the chance to try any 26.04 builds yet. That said, I think we might be missing something important with the Quick Settings, especially the toggle buttons and menus like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and others.
From what I understand, those buttons are meant to be pill-shaped and accented on purpose. That shape feels intentional and part of the design language. I know upstream GNOME Shell uses larger rounded corners in Quick Settings, but it ends up looking a bit different from that original intent.
If you look at Quick Settings in other systems like Android, One UI 8.0, or HyperOS, they don’t go for square buttons with rounded corners, even on devices with slightly rounded screens. In my opinion, a combination of sharper container corners with pill-shaped Quick Settings items strikes a really nice balance.
Rounded rectangle buttons are meant for confirm or cancel actions and menu entries.
