Changing group_by based on sort_by

Hi there,

Is there a way to change the grouping based on the sorting option selected?

Most of the grouping on our shop pages is by metal. But when changing to Highest Rated, I'd like to change it to group by product so I don't have 6 of essentially the same thing all sitting on top of each other.

Is that possible?

Also, after changing things over to use typesense-instantsearch-adapter... while all the sort options are present in the dropdown, it isn't selecting anything and leaving it blank. I'm fixing it on render, but not sure why it isn't just selecting the first option.

Could it be because the default sorting set in the collection isn't in the sortBy widget?

Hey there. Are you using Instantsearch.js or React Instantsearch / Vue Instantsearch etc.?

On a second note, by default, it should automatically apply the first sort order present in the sort by widget. This example showcases it working. Is it different on your case?

It most likely is something on your side, since it seems to be working correctly on that demo. If you can create a reproducible example that I can take a look into, I'd be more than happy to!
