Recommended methods for creating TAGS

I see in my version of emacs (gnu/debian 24.5.1, helm-gtags-20160917.2238) an undocumented interactive autoloaded compiled Lisp command helm-gtags-create-tags. Does that mean that the guide should not be recommending users manually run gnu global to create tags when using helm-gtags?

I create tags by running both gtags command in terminal and using helm-gtags-create-tags in the opened project. I have not faced any issues with either of them.

Thanks @rdotdk. Based on that, I propose, in order to make the guide consistent across the two options helm-gtags and ggtags:

1. To add a line to the code snippet for the helm option
   (define-key helm-gtags-mode-map (kbd "C-c g c") 'helm-gtags-create-tags)

2. To change the text documentation accordingly.

3. To mention as a passing note that outside emacs, tags can be created using gtags.
