Does anyone have a working example to automatically acquire all the devices ID on the network and then setup the next or unused ID?

That's the wrong approach. Unique number will be set by manufacturer and it should stay over device lifetime. So manufacturers keeps database (or should) and uses e.g., increasing number for devices. Since there are also device class and device function on full NAME same manufacturer can use same ID for different device types.

If you are not registered manufacturer and use devices only on your own boat, you can just decide you own way for ID like 21 bit from mcu serial number and use e.g., manufacturer number 2046 so each device will be unique. If you make or sell devices for you friends, previous still works. If you think to make business, you should get manufacturer serial number.
