Problem with new Lowrance devices (HDS Live and Pro)

Hello, Timo, please advise. I have such a problem: that I use in my device your library nmea2000, which determines Heading. The device worked correctly on old Lowrance devices, like Elite Ti, Ti2 HDS Carbon. HDS Pro and part of HDS Live work with it incorrectly! I noticed that if my device is launched first and then only Live, Pro, then my device is not visible, and as a solution I need to restart my device so that hds live, pro detects it. There are also problems with the new Garmin, it periodically displays a message about the loss of the heading sensor! Maybe there is a solution to this problem?

I have experienced the same issue, even with other custom lib nmea2000 devices. Better device detection and/or announcement is needed?

I have not experienced same problem and have not heard anything from commercial devices using my library.

Note that it is extremely important to call tNMEA2000::ParseMessages periodically in average around 1 ms period. You should not have longer than 20-40 ms delay randomly. This is most common problem causing device appear and disappear. Often problem is that people uses somekind of "multi tasking" with too long period or there is some other bad libraries having long delays. If you e.g., use some display library and write a lot to it, it may stop parsing loop for several hundred ms. In that case you need to recreate display library and make it in short calls.
