Kobo Clara 2E does not seem compatible

Got this to work on a kobo clara BW; super happy with it; but now the wife is jealous.
She has Kobo Clara 2E, so I bought another cheap temu clicker, identical to mine, and did the exact same steps, no succes.
Factory reset device, did firmware and normal updates, still nothing.
I'd love to get this one working too, seems a bit silly to buy a new e-reader just so I can cheap out on the clicker...
Willing and able to do testing and coding, also got the output from my clicker. (made linux bootable USB drive, have some background in IT and development)

Get the syslog from the device.

log-2026.01.11-11.20.19.txt
I've renamed it as .txt to be able to upload it, remove .txt from the back to get original file.

You'll need to get the log with logread via NickelMenu or SSH. The automatically generated logs in .kobo are encrypted.
