Is there a way to automatically click cancel for the backup save?

Hmm. This occurs sometimes as a Vensim issue, I'm not sure when or why exactly it happens. Not a bad idea to add a bypass of some kind, but I'm not sure how we'd detect when this has happened. As it is right now, it'll eventually get caught by timing out after timelimit, but there may be a faster way. Let's ask Tom what triggers it.

@Batman-q96 and I fortunately passed this; the computer restarted itself and this error disappeared. So for the future, for backup issues I recommend restarting your machine.

Wait no, that didn't resolve this issue. This dialog box still consistently happens.

I've had the backup box come up intermittently before, but never consistently; @Batman-q96 you're saying it's consistently happening now?

If it is happening consistently, I have an idea, albeit a slightly risky one. Try deleting the corresponding .2mdl file before opening a model. That should prevent the 'autosave backup' Vensim dialogue box from opening.

If that works, it shouldn't be hard to add a line of code to automatically delete the necessary .2mdl if it exists. I can do that later this week (am rather behind on work 'cos have been out sick), or you could try to do it.

It would be helpful, thanks! The error message we observed were ending with 7 and 6 (sorry can't remember exactly, but ending with 7 was #1, ending with 6 was NOT #2). We observed the mix of two errors.

Angie and Batman tried to remove the 3vm file (presumably new vengine uses that instead of a 2mdl?) but that broke vensim and caused every run to fail until a new 3vm was auto generated, then the dialog box came up fairly consistently (>90%) and if the dialog box was manually closed the run completed successfully. Angie will ask tom about the triggers of said dialog box.

each of these runs failed to generate a csv as specified by the savecmd

Hmm, okay. Could you copy me when you ask Tom about it? I am not familiar with the 3vm format and what that's for, and didn't know Vensim 9.x uses a different backup format from the 2mdl.
