[BUG] Alphanumerical ordering doesn't sort by characters, only works for numbers #104

Bug Description
When selecting the annotation "protein_families" and I sort , currently it ignores all letters and only sorts by numbers, and moreover extracts categories from others.
Steps to Reproduce
- choose "protein_families" annotations
- press the cog in legends
- choose sort
- sorting is unexpected

Expected Behavior
I would like to sort the current selected legend categories alphabetically.
