Issue displaying figure

Hi,

2D or 3D plot are not showing for me (blank figure leading to failed process). I _solved_ this issue replacing `fig.show()` with `plt.show()`. May be related to the specific version of matplotib I have (2.2.2). 

Feel free to delete this ticket if it's due to an obsolete version of the packages I have.
