What makes the platform lively? #131

Reddit, LinkedIn (not so much) and Meetup.com all have something in common - they use text in combination with images to make the platform feel alive. For reddit it is mostly memes, real life pictures (of whatever), LinkedIn it is business related pictures and profile pictures. On Meetup we have images of previous events or of the location.

In a decentralized network, how can we have images?

  • We have a server (the node)
  • Upload to ipfs via pinata (helia, similar services)
  • Store the key in the backend (node server, can be multiple?!), assuming not every user has a pinata api key
  • Upload the image and use CID (and or) metadata to attach it to the account (both ways)
  • Is this secure, maintainable and scaleable?
