Pros and cons of the `.render()` options?

This is an exhaustive list of options, right?

• rasterizeNestedSVG: Is this really about rasterizing (= converting a vector image to a bitmap image)? As far as I can tell it’s only about using an <image> with a data: URL vs. nesting <svg>(?) What are the pros of doing the former?
• splitText: What is the alternative to being rendered letter by letter? What are the pros and cons?
